Excitement and eagerness flooded my heart as I set off to attend my friend’s vacation wedding. I was excited about the idea of celebrating love in a beautiful location, but I was even more excited about having complete control over what I wore. Although my friend, the soon-to-be bride, had kindly let us dress whichever we pleased, she had ingeniously established a theme, maroon and gray. I couldn’t help but think back on the days leading up to the wedding as I put on my selected outfit. Our closeness and the delight that awaited us were vividly shown in every memory, from the deep excitement of seeing two souls meet in love to the laughter-filled talks with old friends, to the exhilaration of discovering a new place together.
I can’t help but feel thankful for this wonderful time now that I’m standing in the wedding venue’s gorgeous environment, surrounded by loved ones, and feeling the warmth of friendship.
